Fish consumption as a human right
On Wednesday, June 18, Linn Gould, JHA’s Executive Director will be on a Seattle Human Rights Commission panel to discuss the connection between fish consumption rates in low income and/or people of color populations, health inequities, and human rights. The Seattle Human Rights Commission recently passed a resolution calling on Washington State Department of Ecology to raise the Statewide fish consumption rate to protect the rights of Washingtonians. The panel discussion will be held at Seattle City Hall (600 4th Ave #4, Seattle, WA 98104) in the Bertha Knight Landes Room from 6:00-7:30. Other panel speakers are Jim Peters, Roseanne Lorenzana, Catherine O’Neill, and Bill Daniell who will be presenting their views from the tribal, toxicology, law, and industry perspectives respectively.
