Health Impact Assessment on Duwamish River Superfund cleanup for JHA
JHA is excited to announce that we are collaborating with the University of Washington School of Public Health and the Duwamish River Cleanup Coaliton to conduct a Health Impact Assessment (HIA) on the Lower Duwamish Waterway Superfund Site Cleanup Plan. An HIA is defined as a combination of procedures, methods, and tools that systematically judges the potential and sometimes unintended effects of a project on the health of a population. It also identifies appropriate mitigation measures to manage those health effects. The grant was received from the Health Impact Project, a collaboration of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Pew Charitable Trusts. Check out the press releases at both the University of Washington website and at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Pew Charitable Trusts website.
